Hey Paramount: You May Be Oligarchs, but Bari Weiss Was a Huge Mistake: May 60 Minutes and CBS News R.I.P.

I cancelled my Paramount subscription, and refused to watch “60 Minutes” and any other news broadcast on CBS, the minute I learned that Stephen Colbert had been fired.

I enjoyed his nightly show, but more importantly, I hated Paramount for violating the First Amendment rights of Mr. Colbert. His humor, focused primarily on the worst president in history, was fair and balanced, unlike this other network calling itself Fox News.

He used Trump’s own words and actions to expose America’s Fuhrer.

THE MOST TRUSTED NEWS NETWORK IN AMERICA HAS BECOME THE LEAST RESPECTED IN THE INDUSTRY

Every news broadcast on CBS is losing ratings, and with it, advertising revenue. The station which was privileged to have Walther Cronkite as its primary journalist has become the joke of the industry. This is what happens when billionaires attempt to control a country, or when a Trump sycophant is in control of any aspect of governance.

TWO BROADCASTS I NEVER MISSED

In 1962, I was in high school. In that year the “most trusted” journalist on television news began his tenure with CBS and the evening news. His final broadcast was in 1981.

My family watched him religiously. Unlike today’s “personalities,” Mr. Cronkite offered the news without offering opinions verbally or with body language.

In 1968, CBS offered its viewers a new show called “60 Minutes.” This one-hour show was composed of stories about advances in every part of life on the planet. However, it became famous for its exposure of fraud and corruption in American business and government.

Led by Mike Wallace, Morley Safer, and Ed Bradley, no individual and no organization or business was “off limits.” Politics were excluded.

However, last year a Trump sycophant, Bari Weiss, was given the reigns at CBS news division by’ its parent company, Paramount. Everything began to change.

TRUMP GAINS MORE CONTROL OVER HIS “FAKE NEWS”

Weiss ordered her on-air personalities to avoid reporting any story which exposed Trump’s incompetence or support for his fascist manifesto, Project 2025. Only favorable stories would be allowed on any news broadcast. This included 60 Minutes.

During a staff meeting for 60 Minutes personell earlier this week, 27-year veteran, Scott Pelley, expressed his honest opinion about the changes occurring on CBS. Although the First Amendment protects the press from retribution for revealing government corruption and crime, Weiss demanded the elimination of all information revealing the ‘real Donald Trump.” Mr. Pelley was summarily fired. The following are comments from the respected journalist.

[Pelley responded with a lengthy statement Tuesday night, writing, "For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story." He added, "The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well."

Like all members and supporters of Trump’s Nazi Party, Weiss, attempted to cover-up her big mistake with another lie.

 "I know I speak for myself, and I hope I speak for everyone here when I say that I'm only interested in working in a newsroom that is built on trust and mutual respect. We cannot do our work without it. That foundation was broken on Monday, and despite our attempts to engage with Scott Pelley and to find a way back, unfortunately, we weren't able to do so, and so we had to part ways.”

IT IS NO SECRET THAT TRUMP IDOLIZES ADOLF HITLER

As a young man, those close to Trump in his younger years were aware that he was a huge fan of Adolf Hitler. He had a habit of reading the brutal dictator’s speeches every evening.

Trump continues to use Hitler’s primary beliefs: tell a lie often enough and the uninformed will eventually accept it as fact, and it is mandatory that all information offered to the people must come from the ruling party. No free press.

All dictators/tyrants fear the truth more than anything else. Trump’s oligarchs, some of whom own Paramount, are desperate to perpetuate our nation’s current plutocracy, and maintain Trump’s control over our nation’s dark and foreboding future. They and their employees are traitors to the American people.

Allow me to repeat myself: the purpose of including the press in the First Amendment was to allow it to expose corruption within our federal government without fear of retribution.

Today’s mainstream media is unworthy of that protection.
