The Most Expensive, Ruthless Dictator in American History
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Trump owns a record which will never be broken: not a single
attempt to accomplish something of value in 80 years has become a reality.
His economic policy of placing tariffs on every nation is
ludicrous and making the lives of about 320 million people miserable,
unimagined in America’s 250-year history.
In addition to his ill-advised and failed tariffs, he failed
to keep another campaign promise and end greedflation, while he spends hundreds
of millions of dollars on personal, unnecessary, and unwanted projects. He
completely demolished the East Wing of the White House to build a ballroom, spent
millions of dollars on unnecessary revisions to what is left of the People’s
Home, golf excursions and trips to Mar-a-Lago, at the cost of more than 10 million
dollars each month, a planned archway in his honor, and alterations to the
reflecting pool on the National Mall, which destroyed what had been repaired by
President Obama, and is now experiencing another rebuild, and of course,
additional tax cuts for his oligarchs, forced a decline in the quality of life
for millions as the national debt rose to 40 trillion dollars.
The waste of military weapons and collateral expenses of his
war with Iran has cost the American people about one billion dollars each
month: 60 billion as of today.
ALL THE PROOF WE NEEDED WAS GIVEN TO US BETWEEN 2017 AND
2021
Trickle-down economics, tax cuts for the super-rich,
wasteful personal spending, and obvious graft made Trump richer and the average
American was left struggling with a severe economic decline. In just four
years, between 2017 and 2021, Donald John Trump added four trillion dollars to
the national debt.
When Covid-19 reached America, our country’s small business
ant their employees lost several billion dollars, while his super-rich friends
filled their pockets with money at the expense of the American worker. The.e were
566 billionaires in 2017 and 724 billionaires in 2021, although on January 20,
2021 America’s exonomy war nearing a second Great Depression.
Trump’s business interests experienced an increase of about
1.7 billion during his presidency.
TRUMP 2.0 IS FAR WORSE THAN THE FIRST
In 2025, after another illegitimate victory in the general
election, he hit the ground running. His creation of the Department of
Government Efficiency, placed thousands of government employees on the
unemployment lines, and failed to reduce the national debt by more than one
billion dollars, far less than the promise of two trillion dollars.
Another tax reduction for his oligarchs reduced the individual
income tax rate to a maximum of 37 percent, before they apply the deductions
included in nearly 70,000 pages contained in three IRS documents. The corporate
tax rate has been reduced to a flat rate of 21 percent. These are the lowest
rates offered among all developed nations. His oligarchs are now 989 strong.
Trump continues to spend your money like a drunken sailor on
leave. Meanwhile, his failure to address the needs of the majority are forcing
hundreds of millions of Americans like me to spend money we don’t have to simply
survive.
Conservatives do not exist in Washington in the 21st
century. They continue to allow the worst man in the world to destroy our
nation and we, the people are paying for his personal pleasure.
